Chrysler Germany driving the new Devon GTX Supercar
6th August 2011
As the clean electronic dashboard further demonstrates the intent of Paulin`s vision. A neo-retro gear lever sprouts from the central transmission tunnel, topped by a white gear knob. The shifter connects the driver to the machine, mind with engine.
The Devon GTX is a pure driving oriented vehicle where design intent is all about simplicity, functionality and beauty. Among the most striking visible features are wheel surrounds over both the front and rear wheels which are a different color to the rest of the body. The swooping lines and minimal overhangs achieve the vision of inspiring the future of the sports car. Devon Motorworks will introduce the Devon GTX at the 2009 Pebble Beach Concours.

2011 Chrysler 300
3rd July 2011
The all-new 2011 Chrysler 300 delivers contemporary styling with design details unexpected in the segment. At the front, an all-new grille features seven deeply sculpted horizontal blades that express precision. The liquid-chrome finish of the blades and the new Chrysler wing badge provide a unique contrast against the beautifully drawn bright chrome grille surround. Illuminating the road ahead are signature “key slot” headlamps with a scalloped lower edge. Inside, bi-functional projector headlamps are nestled next to LED-illuminated daytime running lamps, which together form a “C” shape for unmistakable on-road presence.
e Z06 is designed to be a daily-drivable, high-performance
12th February 2011

d carbon fiber fenders and floor panels, it delivers exceptional levels of capability and technology. And with a curb weight of only 3,175 pounds (1440 kg), it’s the lightest, best-balanced Corvette model and one of the most svelte supercars on the market.
Corvette Z06 is propelled by the LS7 7.0L (427 cubic inches) engine that delivers 505 horsepower (377 kW). Unique features include a racing-style dry-sump oiling system that helps ensure adequate oil pressure during high-load cornering. The LS7 engine powers a 3,175-pound (1,440 kg) package to help deliver 0-60 performance of 3.7 seconds in first gear, quarter-mile times of 11.7 seconds at 125 mph and a top speed of 198 mph. A six-speed manual is the only transmission offered with the engine.
The Corvette Z06′s powertrain and drivetrain systems are matched to the LS7′s performance capability. The light, four-into-one headers discharge into close-coupled catalytic converters and through two-mode mufflers. The mufflers each feature a vacuum-actuated outlet valve, which controls exhaust noise during low-load operation but opens for maximum power.
At the rear of the LS7 engine, a single-mass flywheel and lightweight, high-capacity clutch channel torque to the rear transaxle. The six-speed manual transmission is strengthened to handle the LS7′s substantial torque load. It also incorporates a pump that sends transmission fluid to the front radiator for cooling. Upon its return, the fluid removes additional heat from the differential lube before returning to the transmission. The six-speed transmission connects to a limited-slip differential, with enlarged ring and pinion gears. Stronger axle half-shafts with tougher universal joints transmit power to tht weight for the fixed-roof body style. Perimeter rails are one-piece hydroformed aluminum members featuring cast suspension nodes, which replace many welded steel components on other Corvette models. Advanced structural composites featuring carbon-fiber are bonded to the aluminum structure. The wider front wheelhouses, for example, are carbon composites, and the passenger compartment floors combine carbon-fiber skins with an ultra-lightweight balsa wood core.
The Z06 has a magnesium cradle that serves as the attachment point for the engine and some front suspension components. Magnesium is lighter than aluminum, yet incredibly strong. The magnesium cradle helps improve the front-to-rear weight distribution, as do carbon-fiber front fenders and wheelhouses. Engineers also moved the battery from underhood to a position in the rear cargo area, behind one of the rear wheels.
The Z06 retains the 105.7-inch (2,686-mm) wheelbase of other Corvette models, as well as the short-long arm suspension and transverse spring design, but it rides on all-new wheels, tires and brakes, as well as its own rear spring and roll stabilizer. It’s a firmer suspension that works harmoniously with large 18 x 9.5-inch cast-spun aluminum wheels and 275/35ZR18 tires in the front, and 19 x 12-inch cast-spun aluminum wheels with 325/30ZR19 tires in the rear. New Goodyear F1 Supercar Gen 2 tires are standard.
Complementing the suspension system and large rolling stock is an equally capable four-wheel disc brake system, consisting of 14-inch (355 mm) vented and cross-drilled front rotors and 13.4-inch (340 mm) vented and cross-drilled rear rotors.
The front rotors are acted upon by large, red-painted six-piston calipers that use six individual brake pads. Individual brake pads are used because they deliver more equalized wear compared to what would otherwise be a pair of very long single-piece pads. The rear brakes use four-piston calipers with four individual brake pads. A four-channel ABS system is standard, as is a very competent active handling system – complete with a Competitive Driving mode.he rear wheels.he aerodynamics of the Z06′s exterior were shaped by the experiences of the Corvette racing program, where high-speed stability and cornering capability are paramount. While the race cars use large rear wings, the Z06′s elevated spoiler provides sufficient downforce to balance the road-worthy front splitter without adversely affecting aerodynamic drag.
For all of its race-inspired functionality, the Z06 is designed to be a daily-drivable, high-performance vehicle. To that end, comfort and convenience are held to a very high standard. Standard features include High-Intensity Discharge lighting, fog lamps, leather seating, dual-zone air conditioning, cabin air filtration and head-up display (HUD) with track mode and g-meter.
The Z06 gauge cluster displays the Z06 logo on the 7000-redline tachometer, and has a readout on the oil pressure gauge to reflect the higher standard pressure of the dry-sump oiling system. The seats feature two-tone leather surfaces with Z06-logo embroidery and contrasting stitching.

he new Captiva SUV will be seen for the first time at the Paris Motor Show, sporting a new front end design, a range of enhancements to the interior and new engines and transmissions. Captiva will be one of four Chevrolet world premieres.
Captiva is Chevrolet’s full-blooded sports SUV with confident and dynamic new styling and active on-demand all-wheel drive system that distributes power as needed. At the same time the new Captiva retains the advantages of its adaptable, theatre-style seating in three rows which comfortably accommodates up to seven passengers.
The Captiva has won many friends for its exterior design since its launch in 2006, and with the new model it just got even better. A number of features are immediately noticeable when viewing the new Captiva from the front, adding up to its athletic stance: the re-shaped and sharply sculptured hood, a new larger grille with its dual-opening and the Chevrolet ‘bow-tie’ sited proudly in the middle, and the prism style headlamps and integrated LED turn signals on the outside rearview mirrors.
Moving round to the front fenders, the side air-vents now take on a more angular shape to emphasize the new Captiva’s sporting intent, while from the A pillars back the Captiva retains its handsome profile, characterized by a sleek, rising shoulder line. Setting the new Captiva’s body off perfectly are the new exterior color palette and the accentuated wheel arches which will accommodate wheel sizess under the Captiva’s new hood that many changes are also taking place, with no less than four new powerful engines that will come standard with a new manual or automatic six-speed transmission for a powerful, smooth ride. The new engine line-up, which is comprised of two gasoline engines (2.4L and 3.0L) and two turbo-diesel variants (2.2L), incorporates a host of advanced technologies aimed at delivering an optimal balance of performance and fuel economy.
With the introduction of a new 3.0 liter 258 hp V6 gasoline engine with direct injection and variable valve timing, the Captiva will be one of the most powerful compact SUVs on the market, while the new 2.2 liter common rail turbo-charged diesel units will be available with either 163 or 184 hp outputs. Rounding off the new line-up is a 2.4 liter dual overhead cam gasoline unit with variable valve timing, rated at 171 hp. Both, the 2.2 liter turbo-diesels as well as the 2.4 liter gasoline engine can be ordered in front- or all-wheel-drive configurations.
The new Captiva’s chassis has been re-tuned to further enhance vehicle dynamics, improving cornering, roll characteristics and ride feel. With Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS) and Braking Assist System (BAS) standard, as well as front-, side- and curtain airbags, the Captiva provides a high level of safety.

Designers have put to good use some of the elements featured on other new Chevrolet models, such as the ice-blue back lighting and the ‘wrap-round’ design of the front fascia which flows into the front driver’s and passenger doors creating the dual-cockpit look.
The new Captiva features Hill Start Assist, eliminating ‘roll-back’ on hills and an electric park brake that opens up space for further storage in the center console, including two 1-liter cup holders.
The new Captiva’s audio system includes Aux-in, USB-port and Bluetooth connectivity. Passengers will enjoy their audio experience all the more thanks to improved acoustic engineering resulting in reduced road, wind and engine noise. Captiva can be ordered with a touch-screen navigation system with rear view camera for parking assistance.

Chrysler with the Tunes”, one of the highlights
10th January 2011

Richmond International Raceway on September 8 fy Monte Carlo 400 with the Tunes”, one of the highlights will certainly be the unique pace car that brings the starting field around for the green flag.
Chevrolet, together with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, announced an integrated marketing and licensing partnership that teams seven Winston Cup Monte Carlo race drivers with their respectivTunes alter egos.
aracters represented on the seven cars entered in the race are dramatically positioned together as a team on the official Monte Carlo pace car.
“Monte Carlo is the most successful nameplate on the uit,” said Don Parkinson, Monte Carlo brand manager. “As a recognized leader on the track, it only makes good sense that we put it out in front of the pack as a pace car. We’re pleased to have our Looney Tunes friends on board to support of efforts.”
General Motors’ Special Vehicles department developed the new Monte Carlo pace car from a 2001 model-year production car. According to Parkinson, the pace car is a stock Monte Carlo SS with few modifications (e.g., increased engine cooling, air induction and horsepower, and a lowered suspension) that enables it to perform its pace car duties in the harsh environment of professional racing.
“We’re very proud of this unique ‘Chevy Monte es’ pace car,” Parkinson said. “On race day, it will represent Monte Carlo at its best, cruising around the track at the head of the pack. With its unique exterior paint it really gives it that classy-with-a-wild-streak look like no other road-ready vehicle.”
Finished in a specially-formulated “Pure Fire ChromaLusion” paint by DuPont, the pace car seems to magically change from eight to ten different colors depending on the angle in which it is viewed. “Running under the lights at night at Richmond, the fans will certainly be in for a treat,” according to Parkinson.
The pace car, however, will not be the only car on the track that will be turning heads, as the sponsored Monte Carlo of defending race champion Jeff Gordon (with Bugs Bunny aboard) and the sponsored Monte Carlo of Terry Labonte (with Wiley E. Coyote and Roadrunner along side) will also .
The other Looney Tunes cartoon pals prominently displayed on the pace car include k, and Marvin the Martian with K9.
Also among the brightly colored cast members on the pace canother of the Warner Bros. characters recognized around the world. “Taz has been our official mascot for Team Monte Carlo ccording to Parkinson. “He represents how much more fun driving can be in a Monte Carlo.”
Eleven of the most prestigiousWinston Cup races this season will be paced by similar 2001 Monte Carlo pace cars. Other than using a production black-and-silver paint scheme (

cylinder engine ever produced by
18th December 2010

The Pentastar V-6, the most advanced six cylinder engine ever produced by Chrysler Powertrain group, is slated to be the “workhorse” engine across many models and will eventually replace seven different V-6 engines during the next three years.
The new Pentastar V-6 engine was introduced on the 2011 Jeep® Grand Cherokee, and will soon be available in new Chrysler Town & Country, 300 and 200, and Dodge Charger, Avenger, Durango and Journey.
Overall, the new Pentastar enables Chrysler Powertrain to reduce major engine components from 189 parts to just 32, greatly simplifying the build process and improving quality. Significant cost savings also are realized with purchasing efficiencies and a reduction in limited, high piece cost parts
ke its posh Town & Country companion, the lower-priced Chrysler Voyager gains optional power-adjustable pedals during the 2003 model year. Three Voyager trim levels were sold in 2002, but the 2003 lineup includes only two versions of the LX: one with a four-cylinder engine and the other with a 3.3-liter V-6. Offered only in short-body form, all Voyagers have front-wheel drive and a four-speed-automatic transmission.
Until 2001, the Voyager wore a Plymouth badge. When that longtime make was discontinued, Chrysler adopted the Voyager name for its less-costly minivan.
Fewer amenities are available in the Voyager than in the Town & Country. The Voyager is closely related not only to the longer, higher-priced Town & Country but also to the popular Dodge Caravan. All DaimlerChrysler minivans were redesigned and enlarged for the 2001 model year.
The Voyager rides a 113.3-inch wheelbase, measures 189.1 inches long overall and stands 68.9 inches tall. In contrast, the Town & Country minivan is 200.6 inches long overall. Sliding doors on both sides are standard; power sliding doors are not available. The tires are 15-inchers.
Seven occupants fit in the Voyager, which has bench seats for the middle and third rows. Unlike the Honda Odyssey and Mazda MPV, the Voyager lacks a third-row seat that folds into the floor; instead, it may be equipped with an optional 50/50-split third-row bench. Quad Command seating is an option that features second-row buckets instead of a bench seat.
A cassette stereo system is standard, and a CD player is optional. Power windows, locks and mirrors and an electric rear defroster are part of the Popular Equipment Package that is included with V-6 models. Adjustable pedals with a 2.75-inch range are optional.
Voyagers are offered with a choice of two engines, and each mates with a four-speed-automatic transmission. The 2.4-liter dual-overhead-cam four-cylinder engine produces 150 horsepower, while the 3.3-liter V-6 is rated at 180 hp.
The front airbags have multistage inflation. Side-impact airbags and antilock brakes are optional. Seat belt pretensioners for the front seats and child-safety seat tethers for the second and third rows are standard.
Chrysler and Dodge still produce the minivans to beat. Lively acceleration from a standstill with the 3.3-liter V-6 engine is not quite matched by the Voyager’s passing and merging prowess, but performance is more than adequate. Typical buyers will probably decide that the four-cylinder model lacks sufficient strength.
All DaimlerChrysler minivans handle with a relatively light touch, but not in a disconcerting manner. They feel secure on the highway and are easy to drive, with no unpleasant surprises to mar the experience. The Voyager maneuvers adeptly in
